Location
The large county town Marktredwitz is situated in a very charming landscape between the natural parks "Fichtelgebirge" and "Steinwald", about 13 km away from the Czech Republic. In the regional planning it is shown as possible superior centre together with Wunsiedel. The economic location has a surface of 50 qkm and about 18.000 inhabitants.
Infrastructure
From the European point of view the town of Marktredwitz is situated exactly in the centre.In the centre between the federal capital Berlin in the North and the Bavarian capital Munich in the South as well as between the financial metropolis Frankfurt in the West and the culturual metropolis Prague in the East.
The traffic infrastructure is extremely advantageous. The town of Marktredwitz is connected to the North-South tangent (A 93) by three access roads respectively exits, while in East-West direction the federal autobahn A9 is easily accessible via federal road B 303/E 48. In the federal traffic plan a four-way extension is provided for the distance between Marktredwitz and the check point Schirnding towards the Czech Republic.
A special local advantage are the rather near airports of Hof/Plauen (50 km), Nuremberg (125 km), Leipzig-Halle (200 km) and Munich (245 km) that are easily accessible within driving times from 30 minutes to two hours.
This advantageous position at the Eastern frontier of the European Community makes Marktredwitz the ideal springboard to the growing Eastern European markets.
